    SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Bishop Oscar Cantú has initiated a Diocesan Scholarship fund for families who wish to send their children to a Catholic School in the Diocese of Las Cruces.  The new scholarship fund will provide need-based tuition assistance for new students who meet eligibility requirements and enroll in one of the Catholic schools in the Diocese of Las Cruces. Our goal is to fund every deserving child whose family seeks the faith-filled and academically rigorous education at one of our Catholic schools.  Tuition assistance is prioritized by financial need and based on available funding.

FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment will be conducting the financial need analysis for the Diocese of Las Cruces.  There is a $30 application fee per family. The fee goes directly to FACTS to cover the cost of the tuition assistance application software. The Diocese of Las Cruces does NOT benefit from the application fee.

Families applying for financial aid will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS.

Applicants can apply online by clicking the FACTS link located at the bottom of this page.

Once an online application has been completed, the following information will need to be sent to FACTS to complete the application process:

Copies of your most recent Federal tax forms including all supporting tax schedules.

Copies of your most recent W-2 forms for both you and your spouse.

Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation, and TANF.

All supporting documentation can be uploaded in pdf format online.  Documentation can also be faxed to 866-315-9264 or mailed to the address below.  Please be sure to include the applicant ID on all faxed or mailed correspondence.

In addition to the FACTS application and documents, the Office of Catholic Schools also requires a Pastor Verification & Endorsement Form (en español: Formulario-de-Apoyo-y-Verificación-del-Párroco-Parroquial) to be completed by the Pastor of your parish.  The application will not be considered complete until this has been received by the Office of Catholic Schools.

If a family is approved, the school of their choice will be notified by the selection committee via email.  The scholarships will be paid directly to the school in semi-annual installments.  Each disbursement of scholarship funds will be made after the beginning of each semester, once the student’s enrollment and registration status has been verified.

If your school also offers financial assistance and uses FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment to conduct the needs analysis, you only need to complete one (1) application and pay one (1) application fee.  If you have questions or concerns about the application process, you may speak with a FACTS Customer Care Representative at 866-441-4637.  Thank you.
